The first year of our international scientific conference International Conference on Automotive Industry (ICAI 2020) was a success
ŠKODA AUTO University held its inaugural International Conference on Automotive Industry (ICAI 2020) on 12th November 2020. ŠAVŠ is the main organiser of this conference, which is one of the pillars of development of institutional research in the newly defined Strategy of ŠAVŠ for 2021–2030. Partners of the conference include the companies ŠKODA AUTO and Česká spořitelna, the Automotive Industry Association (AutoSAP) and the Faculty of International Relations at the University of Economics in Prague.
The objective of the conference was to stimulate expert discussion and contribute to the development of international scientific networks with specialisations that match those of ŠAVŠ departments in connection with specific issues of the automotive industry.
The first year of the conference was held online (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and was attended by more than 60 participants from 8 countries. Papers presented at the conference focused on the automotive industry not only in terms of economics, management, financial analysis and value chains but also in terms of legal and technical aspects and supply chain management.
The keynote speakers of the conference were prof. Petr Pavlínek from the University of Nebraska/ Charles University and Petr Knap from Ernst & Young. The recording of Prof. Pavlínek's presentation is available on the ŠAVŠ Youtube channel and the presentation of Petr Knap is available here
The main scientific output of the conference is a proceeding consisting of 30 papers that have passed a two-round review process. A digital version of the conference proceeding is available here
The second year of the International Conference on Automotive Industry, subtitled “European Automotive Industry at the Crossroads”, is planned for 9th–10th June 2022, i.e. the period immediately preceding the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU.
