Assessment of foreign education for purposes of admission procedure at Škoda Auto University

The following procedure does not apply to applicants who received their education in the Slovak Republic, Hungary, Poland, Germany and applicants who completed secondary or Master’s studies in Slovenia. Education certificate from these countries is automatically equivalent to the education certificate issued in the Czech Republic.

Submit the request

As a higher education institution possessing institutional accreditation, Škoda Auto University may assess foreign education of applicants within the admission procedure to all study programmes and specialisations at Škoda Auto University. However, such assessment of education only assesses whether the applicant for studies at ŠAU meets the conditions of completing previous education pursuant to Section 48 of Act No. 111/1998, Coll., on higher education institutions and amending and supplementing other laws (Act on Higher Education Institutions) for assessment to a specific study program. Assessment of education within the admission procedure at Škoda Auto University does not mean recognition of either education generally applicable in the Czech Republic or the other higher education institutions in the Czech Republic or abroad.

The assessment of the foreign education must be requested by the applicant. When assessing foreign education, Škoda Auto University shall proceed in accordance with Section 48 of the Act and Directive No. 11/2019. For acts related to the assessment of foreign education, an applicant must pay fee in the amount which is determined in the Regulation „Prices of fees related to study“.

1. Application to study at Škoda Auto University

A request for assessment of foreign education for admission purposes may be accepted if the applicant has submitted a complete e-application.

2. Request for assessment of foreign education

The request for assessment of foreign education must be completed electronically. The same login details as for the

3. Fee for assessment of foreign education

Škoda Auto University charges a fee of CZK 1,250 / € 50 for the assessment of foreign education.

Confirmation of payment must be attached to the application form.

4. Documents submission

Verified copies of documents with the required level of verification must be submitted for the assessment of the foreign school leaving certificate with attachments / diploma and diploma supplement. A list of required documents by level of study is available below.

If the documents required for the assessment of foreign education are not in Czech or English, the applicant must also attach an official translation into Czech or English.

Documents required for assessment of foreign education for admission purposes

Applicant applying for an assessment of foreign secondary education shall submit

  1. a certified copy of the foreign secondary school leaving certificate,
  2. a confirmation of the relevant secondary school abroad or any other authorised body in the respective country on the fact that the secondary school leaver of the foreign secondary school concerned is in the given country entitled to apply for a bachelor degree programme,
  3. a copy of ID / passport

If necessary, Škoda Auto University may ask the applicant to submit the following documents:

  1. additional information on the content and scope of the foreign secondary education
  2. additional information that the study programme was provided by an institution authorised to provide education comparable to secondary education under the Education Act.

  Applicant applying for an assessment of foreign higher education shall submit  

  1. a certified copy of a diploma or similar document on accomplishing  the studies issued by the relevant university / college abroad
  2. a certified copy of diploma supplement or a transcript of records
  3. a copy of ID / passport

If necessary, Škoda Auto University may ask the applicant to submit the following documents:

  1. additional information on the content and scope of the foreign study programme,
  2. confirmation from the competent foreign authority that the foreign higher education institution is authorised to provide higher education in that foreign country (certificate of accreditation).

Foreign education assessment process

  1. The applicant submits the request for assessment of foreign education for admission purposes.
  2. The applicant pays the fee for assessment of foreign education for admission purposes.
  3. The applicant sends the required documents to the address of Škoda Auto University (Na Karmali 1457, 293 01 Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic). The required documents must have authenticated signatures and stamps in accordance with the requirements of the country in which the applicant's school is located.
  4. Once the applicant has completed all the above steps, an assessment will begin. The university will evaluate whether the documented education meets the requirements for admission to the relevant study programme in the Czech Republic. Škoda Auto University will accept the document if there is no doubt that the applicant has proven that he/she fulfills these admission requirements.
  5. The applicant will receive information on the result of the assessment via email.
  6. If the documents are not accepted, the applicant will be asked to submit proof of general recognition of the foreign education in the Czech Republic.
  7. If the applicant fails to provide the required documents, expresses a wish not to continue with the foreign education assessment procedure, or ceases to cooperate in any way, he / she will be treated in the admission procedure as if he / she had not provided any evidence of education.
