prof. Ing. Radim Lenort, Ph.D., ALog., ING-PEAD IGIP

Head of Production, Logistics and Quality Management Department

Radim Lenort graduated from the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at VŠB – Technical University in Ostrava, in the fields of Economics and Management in Metallurgy (Ing.) and Teaching of Specialised Subjects. He successfully completed his doctoral studies at the same faculty in the field of Business Administration and Economics (Ph.D.), followed by habilitation in the field of Management of Industrial Systems (Assoc. Prof.) and the appointment procedure to become professor in the same field (Prof.). Radim Lenort received the degree ING-PEAD IGIP International Engineering Educator awarded by the International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP – Switzerland) and auditor of logistics at the Logistics Academy (ALog.). He was a visiting professor at AGH University of Science and Technology (Poland) and Opole University of Technology (Poland) over a long period. He has completed internships at Dresden University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Regensburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences (Finland), University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (Austria), Technical University of Kosice (Slovakia) and Moscow State Institute of Steel and Alloys (Russia). In terms of teaching and research, he focuses on industrial logistics and industrial supply chains management. He is an auditor of logistics, member of the Chamber of Logistic Auditors, Slovakian Logistics Society, coordinator of the certification and educational organisation Logistics Academy, coordinator of ŠKODA AUTO University’s membership in the Czech Logistics Association and GNSS Centre of Excellence, lecturer of courses for industrial companies, researcher or co- researcher of more than 60 R&D projects (supported e.g. by the Czech Science Foundation, Ministry of Industry and Trade or EU funds) and projects of contractual research (among others ŠKODA AUTO a.s., Siemens s.r.o.). He is an evaluator of the National Accreditation Bureau, member of the scientific board at two universities, member of the editorial board of domestic and foreign journals (e.g. Acta logistica and Archives of Transport indexed in the Scopus database) and supervisor of international conferences and congresses (e.g. Carpathian Logistics Congress or Metal indexed in Web of Science and Scopus). He is the author and co-author of more than 240 publications with more than 580 responses in the Web of Science database (H-index 16). He has worked with ŠKODA AUTO University since 2012.

doc. Ing. Jan Fábry, Ph.D.

Member of Production, Logistics and Quality Management Department

Jan Fábry is a long-time university lecturer. He graduated in Operational Research at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics at the Prague University of Economics and Business and has a PhD in Econometrics and Operational Research from the same faculty. In 2015, he became docent in this field. Jan has worked in the department of econometrics at the Prague University of Economics and Business since 2002. He has been a member of the Production, Logistics and Quality Management Department of ŠKODA AUTO University since 2016. He has published a number of expert articles, particularly in the field of applying mathematical models in transport and production logistics. Jan is an author and co-author to several university textbooks. He has been a long-time member and secretary of the Czech Society for Operational Research. He was a member of research teams for grant projects dealing with optimisation of logistics processes. He has contributed to contractual research projects with ŠKODA AUTO and other companies in production and transport. He is a member of the Academic Council of ŠKODA AUTO University and the study field board of Econometrics and Operational Research at the Prague University of Economics and Business. At ŠKODA AUTO University, he is the guarantor of the Bachelor's specialization in Logistics and Quality Management, and in the Master's studies, he is the guarantor of the specialization in International Supply Chain Management. He is currently a member of the Academic Senate of the ŠKODA AUTO University and Chairman of the Ethics Committee of the ŠKODA AUTO University.

Ing. et Ing. Martin Folta, Ph.D., EUR ING

Member of Production, Logistics and Quality Management Department

Martin Folta is a renowned, leading Czech specialist in quality management in the automotive industry. He graduated from two study programmes at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering of VŠB – Technical University in Ostrava focused on process engineering (quality management) and metallurgical engineering (economics and management in metallurgy). In his postgraduate studies (Ph.D.) at the same university, he completed his doctoral studies, specialising in Industrial Systems Management (quality management). He holds the European engineer title EUR ING and has many years of practical experience in quality management thanks to his work in the private corporate environment of automotive supply chains at various executive and management positions. He currently holds the position of an independent international certification auditor of IATF (International Automotive Task Force) overseeing the fulfilment of requirements of management systems in organisations that provide series production and spare parts production in the automotive industry. As an experienced process auditor according to the VDA 6.3 methodology, he was approved by VDA QMC in Berlin in 2013 as the official instructor of this methodology and later appointed as an examining commissioner who assesses the professional qualifications of process auditors. He also provides consultancy services in quality management, and as a professional trainer he gives lectures on the approaches, methods and tools related to the increasingly demanding requirements of the automotive industry. He holds several globally recognised certificates related to the performance of the professional activities mentioned above. Since 2008, he has worked for ŠKODA AUTO University in Mladá Boleslav as the coordinator of courses in quality management. As a thesis supervisor, supporting and advising students in order to help them successfully complete their study programmes coordinated by the Department of Logistics, Quality and Automotive Technology. He regularly sits in the committees of final state examinations. He contributes to education in quality management as the author of many specialist publications.

Ing. David Holman, Ph.D.

Member of Production, Logistics and Quality Management Department

David Holman currently works as an assistant professor, deputy head of the Department of Production, Logistics and Quality Management and coordinator/lecturer of successful commercial courses at ŠKODA AUTO University. He also lectures at foreign universities in Germany, Finland and Russia and at the international summer schools’ Global Management in the Automotive Industry. He has extensive practical experience from his previous work in the strategic department Logistics Planning at ŠKODA AUTO a.s. and is a member of the Chamber of Logistics Auditors and Czech Logistics Association. He is a researcher and co-researcher for educational and scientific and research projects and contractual research projects. He is a member of the scientific committee of Carpathian Logistics Congress, an international conference listed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. He is the author and co-author of dozens of publications with responses in the Web of Science database. In teaching, science and commercial projects and publishing, he specialises in the use of systems thinking (he is the author of holistic approach to systems thinking), use of LEAN principles and sustainability in logistics and supply chain management, in and beyond the automotive industry. He is currently working on Joint Enterprise University Learning (JEUL), an international Erasmus+ project, studying new needs of graduates to find international jobs in cooperation with European, Chinese and Vietnamese universities and a science and research project OP PIK developing a predictive planning application 4.0.

Ing. David Staš, Ph.D.

Member of Production, Logistics and Quality Management Department

David Staš graduated from the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at VŠB – Technical University in Ostrava in the field of study Economics and Management in Metallurgy (Ing.). He successfully completed his doctoral studies at the same faculty in the field of Business Administration and Economics (Ph.D.), which he completed while working. He has 15 years of experience in the metallurgical and engineering industries, especially in: production technology and development of production base, management of strategic projects, operational and tactical planning, implementation of LEAN techniques and tools and related training. He worked as a visiting lecturer at the Technical University in Ostrava and as a lecturer and second reader of the Logistics Academy organised by PQL poradenství pro kvalitu a logistiku, s.r.o. He has completed internships at Dresden University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Regensburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences (Finland). In terms of teaching and research, he focuses on management of industrial systems and industrial logistics. His research and publishing activities focus on the methods of lean production, industrial logistics, management and optimisation of industrial systems. As part of the project and advisory activities, he actively cooperates with companies in the automotive, engineering and metallurgical industries. He is an active lecturer of courses for industrial companies, researcher or co-researcher of R&D projects (supported e.g. by the Czech Science Foundation, Ministry of Industry and Trade or EU funds) and projects for contractual research (among others ŠKODA AUTO a.s., Siemens s.r.o.). He is a member of the Green Logistics Team at ŠKODA AUTO a.s. and a member of the programme committee and reviewer for the Carpathian Logistics Congress as well as a reviewer for the journal Sustainability (Switzerland). He is the author and co-author of more than 40 publications with more than 90 responses in the Web of Science database. He has worked with ŠKODA AUTO University since 2013.

doc. Ing. Pavel Wicher, Ph.D.

Pavel Wicher is a member of the academic staff in the Department of Production, Logistics and Quality Management and also works for the Department of Economics and Management in Industry of the Technical University Ostrava, where he received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Industrial Economics and Management. He completed his doctoral studies in Industrial Systems Management at the same university in 2015 and was a recipient of the Dean’s and Rector’s awards for the Best Doctoral Candidates of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. In 2020 he defend habilitation thesis in same programme. He completed long-term and short-term internships at universities in China, Russia, Finland, Germany, Austria, Poland and Slovakia. His professional activities focus primarily on logistics, management of supply chains and project management. He is a researcher and co-researcher of many contractual research projects (among other for ŠKODA AUTO a.s., Siemens s.r.o, ArcelorMittal Ostrava a.s, V-PODLAHY, s.r.o., KES – kabelové a elektrické systémy, spol. s r.o., OZO Ostrava s.r.o., Tiskárna Baloušek, s.r.o.) and science and research projects (supported e.g. by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Industry and Trade or EU funds). He is the author and co-author of more than 50 publications (monographs, research articles in journals registered in global databases and conference papers). He has worked with ŠKODA AUTO University since 2012.

Ing. Tomáš Malčic, Ph.D.

Tomáš Malčic graduated from the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at VŠB – Technical University in Ostrava, in the field of study Economics and Management in Metallurgy (Ing.). He is completing his doctoral studies in Industrial Systems Management (Ph.D.) at the same university. As part of his doctoral studies at the Technical University in Ostrava, he teaches the courses Process Modelling, Management of Production Processes and Project Management. In terms of his teaching, research and publishing activities, he specialises primarily in optimisation and process analysis of logistics processes in industry. In these areas, he has experience mainly in the metallurgical and automotive industry, which he gained as a member of teams for research projects. The outputs of these projects were published in professional journals and conference compilations listed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. He started working with ŠKODA AUTO University in April 2019 as an assistant professor at the Department of Production, Logistics and Quality Management.
