Mgr. Petr Šulc

Head of Quantitative Methods Department

Petr Šulc has worked at ŠAVŠ since its inception in 2000. He graduated from the Faculty of Science at Prague Charles University in the field of study Geography and Mathematics. He was a teacher at the Dr. Josef Pekař grammar school in Mladá Boleslav between 1992 and 1996. In 1996, he moved to VOŠ ŠKODA AUTO where he worked as the deputy headmaster. He participated in the foundation of ŠKODA AUTO University in 1999-2000. He was later appointed Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at ŠAVŠ. After the transformation of ŠKODA AUTO University into a separate legal entity in 2013, he became the Rector. He was in this position until 2015. During his time at ŠAVŠ, he has contributed significantly to all the transformations, accreditations and many other development projects of the university. He is currently the Vice-Rector for Study Affairs and Quality Management and the Head of the Department of Informatics and Quantitative Methods. He focuses on teaching mathematics and statistics and provides advice to the students of ŠAVŠ in study organisation. He collaborates on expert projects in applied statistics.

Mgr. Petr Kasal

Department of Quantitative Methods Member

Petr Kasal is a lecturer at the Department of Informatics and Quantitative Methods. He graduated in Mathematics Education at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and in Physical Education at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at Charles University. He also completed specialised studies on teambuilding activities and outdoor sports. Petr holds a number of training certificates for various outdoor activities. He was a mathematics and PE teacher at the Dr. Josef Pekař grammar school in Mladá Boleslav between 1999 and 2008. He has worked for ŠKODA AUTO University since 2006. In the field of mathematics, he focuses primarily on numerical methods of mathematical analysis and teaching. He also works on the preparation of e-learning courses. Petr works on several contractual research projects in the field of statistical data processing.

Mgr. Radka Hakl, Ph.D.

Department of Quantitative Methods Member

Radka Hakl graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University, first in General Mathematics (Bc.) and then in follow-on studies of Probability, Mathematical Statistics and Econometrics (Mgr.). Then she studied at Columbia University in the City of New York, where she received her Ph.D. from the department of statistics at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. From 2013 to 2015, she worked at Universitaet Wien as a member of a research group dealing with financial mathematics. She has been a lecturer at ŠKODA AUTO University since 2015.

Mgr. Pavel Brom, Ph.D.

Department of Quantitative Methods Member

Pavel Brom first graduated in general physics and then completed his specialisation in optics and optoelectronics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University. There he defended his dissertation in 2018 on Integrated e-learning of optics and quantum physics in the doctoral programme Didactics of Physics and General Questions of Physics. Pavel Brom specialises in the use of computer peripherals and software to automate control, measurement and data processing, especially in research and development. In terms of teaching, he emphasises understandability and clarity and the use of modern technology, such as local-remote experiments in physics controlled over the internet. He develops new remote experiments and technologies for teaching. One of his greatest achievements is the design of an electromagnetic system for the insertion of radionuclides into a cloud chamber in the CERN Microcosmos permanent exhibition in Geneva. Pavel's hobbies include astronomy, popularisation of science and technology, electronics and computers, algorithmisation and programming, travelling, music, dancing and organising events. He has been the director of the Mladá Boleslav Observatory since 2007. Starting in 2011, he has organised the Science in the Streets annual event in Mladá Boleslav. He has been a lecturer at ŠKODA AUTO University since 2013.

doc. Ing. Eva Jarošová, CSc.

Department of Quantitative Methods Member

Eva Jarošová is a leading expert on applied statistics and a long-time university lecturer. She graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague in the field of Technical Cybernetics (Ing.). She later completed her research aspirations in the field of Technical Cybernetics (CSc). She was appointed as docent at the University of Economics in Prague in the field of Statistics in 2004. Until 1990, she worked as a researcher in the State Research Institute for Machinery in Běchovice. Since then, she has worked in education (at the University of Economics in Prague until 2012). For many years, she worked in the Czech Society for Quality as a member of the expert group for statistical methods and currently also works in the technical standards committee TNK4 of the Czech Standardisation Agency (formerly the Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing). Eva has published a number of professional articles, particularly in the field of statistical methods of quality management and linear models and has co-authored several books. In terms of teaching, she specialises in statistics and statistical methods of quality management. She has been a docent of ŠKODA AUTO University since 2008.

prof. RNDr. Václava Pánková, CSc.

Department of Quantitative Methods Member

Václava Pánková graduated in theoretical cybernetics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University. She completed her postgraduate research study at the Faculty of Informatics at the University of Economics. She completed further training and internships at: Moscow Statistical Institute, Institut d’Administration des Entreprises in Paris, Somerville College in Oxford and London School of Economics. She specialises in econometrics, has published works in this field and teaches an econometrics course.

Mgr. Elena Říhová, Ph.D.

Elena Říhová graduated in statistics at the University of Economics in Prague (Ph.D). In the field of statistics, she focuses on multi-dimensional statistical methods, especially on cluster and factor analysis. She is a visiting professor at universities in Bulgaria, Greece and Albania. She has participated in a number of international research and other projects: -Future Influencers (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, USA, Italy) -Personal Sales Process in the Automotive Industry (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, USA, Italy) -The Period of Unemployment after the Crisis -Preparation of Statistics Learning Courses -Preparation of Databases of Examples from the Theory of Probability and Mathematical Statistics for Students of the University of Economics -Evaluation of Results of Cluster Analysis in Economic Tasks
