Department of quantitative methods

The Department of Quantitative Methods focuses primarily on teaching the courses in the common core of study programmes and also on courses expanding the knowledge of statistical methods in quality management. Their aim is to equip students with the necessary competencies in quantitative methods and basics of physics. Members of this department teach the courses Mathematics I and II, Physics, Basics of Statistics, Statistics, Statistics for Economists at the Bachelor level and courses Econometrics and Statistical Methods in Quality Management I and II in follow-on Master's programmes. The department also offers courses of mathematics designed to balance the different entry knowledge of applicants and students. Members of the department regularly give lectures on related topics at secondary schools. Research activities of the department focus on projects on statistical data processing and prediction of development of economic processes at the corporate and national level. Partners of the project include particularly ŠKODA AUTO a.s. and the Automotive Industry Association (AutoSAP).
