Inclusive Support

Counselling for students with special needs at the educational institution focuses on supporting those who may face various challenges during their studies due to health impairments, specific disorders, or other individual needs. The aim of this counselling is to ensure equal access to education and to provide assistance to students.

Students can use the counselling services free of charge throughout the entire academic year. The goal is not only to improve the quality of student life but also to promote independence and self-confidence on their journey toward successful completion of their studies.

Students with special needs also study at the educational institution.

These may include students with specific learning and behavioural disorders (SPUCH), sensory (visual or hearing) or physical impairments, mental disorders or illnesses, and students on the autism spectrum (ASD), including Asperger’s syndrome (AS). It may also include students with chronic somatic illnesses.

It is essential to create appropriate conditions and an understanding environment for these students to help them integrate more easily into regular classes. It can therefore be expected that you may meet some of these students in your activities. That is why we are here. Our goal is not only to make studying at the educational institution as accessible as possible for students with specific educational needs, but also to support and guide academic staff.

You can find detailed information in the handbook, which provides basic guidance and helps create conditions for a better understanding of barriers to prevent misunderstandings. On one hand, it is necessary to ensure that students with specific needs have access comparable to other students, and on the other hand, to work methodically with academic staff — assisting with teaching modifications, providing information, and offering individual counselling.

Psychological Counselling

The unexpected nature or intensity of a stressful situation may lead to our usual coping strategies no longer being sufficient or effective. In such cases, it can be helpful to seek support from a professional (psychologist or psychotherapist). Our decision to use psychological services is often influenced by myths, prejudices, and unrealistic expectations.Visiting a psychologist (seeking professional help) is not a sign of weakness; on the contrary, it reflects a realistic assessment of one’s current situation and a willingness to address it. All shared information is treated with strict confidentiality.
