Language Management

Blended Intensive Programme

The aim of the course is to combine the theories of language policy and language management with corporate practice. Students learn basic concepts, forms and tools applied in the field of language policy and language management in the context of nation states and globalization. Students gain basic orientation in social contexts, language management in corporate practice and develop basic skills in qualitative research methods.

Blended format:

On-line sessions: 2nd & 9th October 2023

Self-study: October - November 2023

On-site training and final presentation: End of November / beginning of December

E-support: MS Teams

Fee: free of charge

     Students have to cover all cost by themselves (accommodation, meals, travel, etc.). Participants have to apply for short-term blended mobility grants via Erasmus+. They can gain up to 70 EUR / day.

After completing the course, the student:

  • Orients in social aspects related to language policies, language laws and labor migration in EU and Czech Republic.
  • Recognizes macro, mezzo and micro level of language policy and language management, is able to use basic tools of language planning in varied social contexts.
  • Understands language management process at the (inter)national, institutional and individual basis and is able to constructively solve language behavior related problems and set up language related strategies in corporate practice.
  • Understands and applies relevant qualitative research methods and properly applies them for analysis and proper policy implementation in corporate practice.

     Head of Languages and Intercultural Competences Department. Dagmar specialises in diversity management in management and marketing, English teaching and pedagogical methodology.
