SAU hosted a delegation from Wayne State University in Detroit

The management of Skoda Auto University met with a representative of Wayne State University in Detroit and representatives of other institutions. The higher education representatives discussed cooperation, especially student exchange and research and academic cooperation.

Dr. Ahmad Ezzeddine, Vice President for Student, Academic and Global Affairs of Wayne State University, represented it at the meeting with the SAU authorities. During the discussions, Mr Ezzeddine expressed his interest in cooperation in the field of research and academics. Furthermore, he was also interested in student mobility and other potential forms of collaboration.

Also, other members of the numerous delegation attended the joint meeting. The guests included Mr Alex Mathew, CEO of BESI USA and CEO of the Sustainability Science Center, Mr Santh Sathza, CEO of LuftCar LLC and Mr Jiři Navrátil, Country Head - Czech Operations at Gamma Technologies.

“We presented the structure, professional specialisation and organisation of the study programmes at SAU to our colleagues from the United States. They were very interested in our University’s cooperation system with employers, including the dual education programme. Our guests were also inquisitive about our extensive cooperation with foreign universities and corporate partners,” explained Mgr. Petr Šulc, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality Management at Skoda Auto University.

Skoda Auto University was represented not only by Mgr. Petr Šulc, but also Ing. Sandra Lacinová, Bursar of the University, commented on the meeting, saying: “I perceive today’s meeting very beneficial, and I would like to thank Ms/Mss Monika Bokšová, Vice-Consul of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chicago, who facilitated the meeting on the premises of our school. I firmly believe her involvement will ensure fruitful cooperation between both participants.

The SAU management was also represented by Dr. Jan Lachman, Vice-Rector for Science and Research, and Ing. Zdeněk Hejda, PhD, member of the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of SAU.

Students at Skoda Auto University can travel abroad to more than 40 partner universities as part of their Bachelor’s and Master’s studies. Establishing a partnership with Wayne State University in Detroit would give our students another opportunity to travel to the USA to improve their language skills, gain valuable experience and broaden their horizons during their studies.
