Škoda Auto University Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Granada

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Škoda Auto University strengthened its international ties through the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Granada.

The signing ceremony in Granada brought together the rectors of both institutions:

  • Prof. Pedro Mercado Pacheco, Rector, University of Granada
  • Prof. Ondřej Krejcar, Ph.D., MPA, Rector, Škoda Auto University

Also present were Assoc. Prof. Helena Chytilová, Ph.D., M.A., Vice-Rector for International Relations at ŠAVŠ, as a member of the university delegation, and Prof. Enrique Herrera Viedma, Vice-Rector for Research and Knowledge Transfer at UGR, whose valuable support helped to establish this cooperation.

The University of Granada, founded in 1531, is the fourth largest university in Spain and is ranked 401 in the QS World University Rankings.

This agreement represents a milestone in the international strategy of Škoda Auto University, fostering joint educational and research projects, academic mobility, and long-term partnerships.

Meeting of ŠAVŠ with a Nobel Laureate at the University of Granada

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, an exceptional meeting took place at the University of Granada with Prof. Philip H. Dybvig, laureate of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. Together with Ben Bernanke and Douglas Diamond, he was awarded for research that fundamentally enhanced the understanding of the role of banks in the economy and their vulnerability during financial crises. Their work also significantly contributed to approaches to financial market regulation.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Ondřej Krejcar, Ph.D., MPA, Rector of Škoda Auto University, Prof. Enrique Herrera Viedma, Vice-Rector of UGR, and Assoc. Prof. Helena Chytilová, Ph.D., M.A., Vice-Rector for International Relations at ŠAVŠ. The discussion was highly inspiring and provided valuable insights for further research activities in economics.

Successful visit to the University of Granada and cooperation at faculty level

As part of the official visit of ŠAVŠ to the University of Granada, and following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the delegation – Rector Prof. Ondřej Krejcar, Ph.D., MPA, Assoc. Prof. Helena Chytilová, Ph.D., M.A., and Dr. Jakub Herout – continued with a series of faculty-level meetings coordinated by Prof. Enrique Herrera Viedma, Vice-Rector for Research at UGR.

Discussions focused on internationalisation, including Erasmus+ mobilities, summer schools, Blended Intensive Programs (BIP), and opportunities for joint research and educational projects.

Meetings took place at the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology, Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications, and Faculty of Sciences, where concrete opportunities for cooperation were identified in areas such as digitalisation, smart mobility and sustainability.

These meetings represent another step in strengthening the partnership between ŠAVŠ and UGR, opening new opportunities for both students and academics.
