On December 7, 2023, at 14:00, the Škoda Training Center hosted the grand finale of the Laurin and Klement Prize competition, attended by expert representatives from various areas of Škoda Auto and academics from universities.
Ten finalists were selected for the final round, where they sequentially presented their final projects and their contributions to the Škoda Auto company. Among the finalists were three students (graduates) from ŠAVŠ - Dominik Smetana, Lukáš Gerhardt, and Magdaléna Pražáková - with their bachelor's theses. This was followed by an evaluation of each finalist by academics and representatives of Škoda Auto. The Laurin and Klement Prize was awarded to a CTU graduate for her master's thesis in the Tool Room field.
Magdalena Pražáková presented outcomes from her bachelor's thesis on the topic: "Analysis and optimization of work conditions for masters at ŠKODA AUTO a.s.", Lukáš Gerhardt introduced his work on the topic: "Factors influencing ŠKODA AUTO vehicle sales in the British market", and Dominik Smetana highlighted a modern theme: "Chatbot for automated negotiation in company ABC".
The Laurin & Klement Prize is a competition organized by Škoda Auto, recognizing university students for their outstanding final projects in technology, development, production, and logistics fields. The competition focuses on practical applications of theoretical knowledge in line with the real needs of the company. The winner receives a financial reward of 80,000 CZK, while other finalists receive 30,000 CZK each. This initiative is part of Škoda Auto's broader strategy to support technical education and professional development of young talents.
